CULTURE & EDUCATION

Orfeas develops and implements a wide range of cultural and educational activities aimed at promoting creativity, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue and lifelong learning at local, national and European level. Through non-formal and informal education methods, we create inclusive learning environments where children, young people and the wider community can explore culture, arts, languages, European and global values and social issues in an engaging and participatory way.

Cultural Education Through Schools and Municipal Partnerships

A core focus of Orfeas’ cultural and educational activity is collaboration with schools, municipalities, cultural institutions and European programmes, particularly through the European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus+. We work together with the volunteers of the ESC program with the common goal to deliver interactive workshops, creative projects, thematic events and awareness-raising actions.

Promoting Intercultural Exchange and European Awareness

The organisation places strong emphasis on intercultural exchange and European awareness, organising events such as Erasmus Days, European Youth Week activities, language workshops, cultural games and information sessions about European opportunities. Through language cafés, school-based workshops, debates and cultural presentations, participants are introduced to different cultures, languages and perspectives, fostering openness, tolerance and mutual understanding.

Creativity and Inclusion Through Art and Community Activities

Artistic expression and creativity are central elements as well of our cultural and educational approach. Painting schoolyards, creating educational games in public spaces, organising craft workshops, theatre, music, festivals and cultural events allow participants to express themselves creatively and actively take part in community life. We give special attention to inclusive activities, ensuring the participation of children/ youth with fewer opportunities, and different age groups, including activities with elderly communities.

Activities such as school celebrations, cultural festivals, charity actions, intercultural community events and awareness days strengthen social cohesion and reinforce the role of cultural and educational activities as tools for community development. Through these cultural and educational initiatives, Orfeas has built strong experience in educational programme design, cooperation with schools and local authorities, inclusive methodologies and public event organisation. We approach culture and education not only as learning processes, but as powerful means to empower individuals, connect communities and promote shared European and human values.
