As the new set of short-term volunteers arrived in May, they got stuck into work immediately.
They all enthusiastically took part in our Europe Day on the 9 of May. They are from France, Ireland, and Turkey. Each volunteer represented their country to all of the language schools that came to learn about the EU and Europe in general. They spoke a lot about the culture, traditions, and geography of their countries (for more details, check our post https://www.instagram.com/reel/CsTJ2a4Ixpw/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==).
The group has also been heavily active in cleaning up the beaches and forest here in Xylokastro. Most mornings they are there valiantly picking up the copious amounts of trash left there after the weekends and throughout the week. In a recent Instagram post on Orfeas’s Instagram, it shares all of the craziest things they have found.
On top of these things, they also took part in reviving the square. They sanded down plant pots and painted them to improve their appearance. The square is looking well and ready for this summer season.
