Youth Information offices

Youth information office in Xylokastro was the first big attempt to promote the European Youth   Programme on a regional level. From 2004 till today Orfeas organised 7 multilateral youth exchange projects inviting more than 350 young people and cooperated with more than 35 youth organisations all over Europe. Orfeas Xylokastro office coordinates 3 long-term voluntary (EVS) projects and one short-term project with   the assistance of Xylokastro municipality. By sending and hosting volunteers, organising youth exchange programmes, and training seminars, the Youth Information Office in Xylokastro became example of collaboration between an NGO and a public organisation.

Youth Information office in Vocha has begun to function with the support of Orfeas organization and Vocha municipality at the middle of 2006. The Youth information office with the assistance of the Ministry of home affairs became one of the best and well-organised Youth Information Offices in Greece by sending the biggest percentage of volunteers from all parts of Greece for the last 2 years. Orfeas Youth Information office in Vocha coordinates 2 EVS hosting projects in cooperation with the municipality. It is in close contact with the Employment Office of the region and attempts to promote participation in various educational activities by using the Youth in Action Programme as a tool against the unemployment. The Youth Information Office in Vocha also supports the youth council of the municipality and organized already 2 big multilateral youth exchanges with the participation of 100 youngsters all over Europe.

Youth Information office in Velo has begun to function with the support of Orfeas organization and Velo municipality at the end of 2007. This office coordinates 3 long-term EVS programmes and it is very active mostly hosting and sending volunteers in Europe. The Youth information office has also a small info desk inside the youth centre of Velo that is running  by the help of EU volunteers.  Youth Information office in Velo already organized 2 multilateral youth exchange projects  in which took part more than 18 different organisations and  more than 100 participants. The Youth Information Office in Velo also supports the youth council of the municipality.
